TOUR
We are pleased to announce that the Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) and Sirindhorn National Medical Rehabilitation Centre (SNMRC) have each arranged a tour of their facilities for i-CREATe 2008 attendees. Transportation will be available to i-CREATe 2008 attendees from the Imperial Queen's Park Hotel (i-CREATe 2008 site) to APCD and SNMRC.

The Overall goal of APCD is to promote the empowerment of people with disabilities and a barrier-free society in developing countries in the Asia and Pacific Region. The tour will include introducing the various activities at APCD and work related to Assistive Technology. i-CREATe 2008 attendees will also visit the APCD Training Building that is designed to provide a level of accessibility for persons with disabilities. |
SNMRC is responsible for development in medical rehabilitation for the patients and people with disabilities via research and development program and technical supporting activities, procurement and distribution of assistive devices (wheelchair, gait aids, prosthesis, orthosis, low vision aids, hearing aids, etc.) to the hospitals all over Thailand. In cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the center also support the development of manufacturing assistive technology. i-CREATe 2008 attendees will be able to visit the rehabilitation centre, Assitive Technology Centre, Prosthesis and Orthoses workshop and Independent Living Centre. |
Each tour will be at the following time:
Thursday – May 15, 2008
2 – 5pm
1 group of 20 persons
Baht 500 per person
Transport will leave Imperial Queen's Park hotel at 2.00pm
Please note that the tours are limited to a maximum of 20 persons each and is on a first-come-first-serve basis. NO REFUND will be made for no show and cancellation of visit.
